FriiSpray is a guerilla infra-red grafitti installation using a custom infra-red spray can, a projector, a Nintendo WiiMote, and open source softwares. The installation is a projection on a large pane of glass such as a shop front or large window and allows the user to digitally grafitti using the custom made spray can.
Since the creation of Friispray, The Jam Jar Collective have taken it all over the UK running workshops in infra-red can creation to working with disabled groups to create reflexive painting environments. The project has featured on The BBC world Service, Wired Magazine, @Thinking Digital Conference, Twestivals, Maker Faire x2, dConstruct and other conferences, festivals and events.
FriiSpray is currently being developed to work with Arduino technology, distance sensors and a pressure sensitive switch. All of this will be housed in a 3D printed spray can. In addition to the new hardware, the interface is being redesigned by 273 Design who has previously designed for Channel 4, YTV, Tru Thoughts, First Word.
Come create digital graffiti on the windows of Kro2 as part of the FutureEverything Music Launch at Kro2 on Wednesday night.
